hp deskjet 5650 won't install on windows XP
They are selling a HP Deskjet 5650 inkjet printer (USB and parallel) for 60 quid, I paid the RRP of 100 pounds for mine only 3 months ago :-( and have been very pleased with it, so at 60 quid I would say it's a bargain. All printer cartridges are half price (but they didn't have the one's for the 5650, typical !

Here's my config: Mac OSX.2.6 GhostScript installed HP deskjet 5650 Netgear PS110 print server w/static IP address. My Windoze computer sets this up with it's eyes closed (it's normal state!) and sees the printer with no prob. The Mac refuses to see the printer at all regardless of how I try to set it up.

In the Print dialog, under the Adobe Illustrator 10 pull down menu you can change the option to ASCII for the data format. You will also get the same behavior if there is a placed EPS that is saved

I have removed and re-installed Works and the HP Deskjet 5650 several times. I could not remove the printer driver because it is "in use" even after a reboot. I have Windows XP 5.1 There are 46 gig free on the C drive. There is only one printer and it is the default printer. . .

Our problem is that any user on our OS X machines attempting to print an Illustrator document to our HP LaserJet 8150DN's will generate a never-ending stream of rubbish consisting of completely or semi-blank pieces of paper, mostly with gibberish (symbols and letters) printed across the top.
