I'm thinking of buying a duplexer unit for my Deskjet 5650 printer, but I'm wondering about how well they work. I checked on Google, but user reviews of them I bought a secondhand DeskJet 5850 (very similar to your 5650--it adds only a network interface) after trashing the JetDirect firmware on my first 5850.

But now when I print (HP Deskjet 5650) the page always fails to print (leaving an app. quarter inch border) even though on screen the JPG background covers the entire page. I've tried a variety of things in the Page Setup and the printer settings but have been unable to figure out how to do this.

I've tried to install it by the installation disk but it tells me to plug in the printer when it's already connected. I also tried using the wizard for adding printers, but my printer is NOT listed, though when I bought this printer (hp deskjet 5650) it said it was supposed to work with windows 98 and up.
